Our Work in the United Kingdom
My Basic Needs Charity Foundation is committed to supporting vulnerable individuals, children and families within communities across the United Kingdom.
As we develop our UK programme, our focus includes helping people experiencing food insecurity and financial hardship through access to food, clothing and other essential items.
We aim to work in partnership with supermarkets, businesses, food-support organisations and community partners to obtain suitable donated food and essential products for free distribution to people experiencing need.
Our UK work will grow responsibly and in line with available resources, partnerships and identified community needs.
Alongside immediate practical support, our longer-term vision includes opportunities that can help young people and families build confidence, skills and greater independence.

A mission shaped by lived experience.
The roots of My Basic Needs Charity Foundation go back to 2003, when its founder began personally sending money, food, clothing, books and stationery to support children and families.
This commitment grew from a clear belief: a child’s future should not be limited by hunger, missing school materials or the distance they must walk to reach a classroom.
