Youth Skills & Development

As part of our developing UK programme, My Basic Needs Charity Foundation aims to create opportunities for young people to gain practical skills, confidence and greater independence.

One area we are currently developing is free introductory hairdressing skills sessions for young people interested in learning the profession, working in partnership with appropriate community organisations and subject to safeguarding, suitable facilities and available resources.

Confidence, creativity and future opportunity

As the programme develops, MBNCF hopes to expand its skills-based community initiatives in response to local needs.

Responsible delivery requires suitable trainers, safe learning spaces, appropriate equipment, strong safeguarding and community partners. Our objective is practical capability that can improve a young person’s choices and independence.

Help us develop this programme responsibly

Community organisations, professional trainers, equipment partners, mentors and funders can help us create safe, practical opportunities for young people.
